Lil Miss Squeeky

Image
OK, so she's not walking or talking yet but yes, it's been so long! AGAIN! :p I was so sure that i'll have more time to blog when im here but i blame it on having the one computer that Michael's always on and a squeaking lil one that i can't keep away from for too long! Aha, im blaming everyone except for my lazy self! Here's what Ayisha's been up to: - she's giggling everyday, talking her baby talk every hour and smiling every other minute - she did her visa run to Krabi and she was the centre of attention yet again everywhere we go - she loves the night life i think, cos when she's out and about in her stroller, with bright lights and people walking around especially in Krabi, she'd scream excitedly by herself (no funny faces involved) - she's as long as a pillow now - she started blowing bubbles and putting her feet in her mouth few weeks ago but that's so old news now. When Michael blows bubbles to her now, she'd just star...

Malaysian Life, For Now...

It's been SO long i don't even know where to start. We left Oz when Ayisha's about ..well hafta check my diary but very little lah...Now she's 16 weeks old. Im sooo bad! So much stuff has been happening, with her of course. There's just so much to tell, im gonna try to start from the beginning without this entry turning into a possible chapter of a storybook. Leaving Oz was a mixture of emotions for me. Sad to leave people behind and packing up most of our stuff away especially Ayisha's but also happy to be seeing fam & friends back home again. A bit guilty for taking Ayisha away from her loved ones but excited to share her with the rest of her fam & friends. I was also scared, worried & paranoid about her first plane ride and how she'd adjust to the heat and all, among other things. KL! Here we come!! But Ayisha's been making almost everything easy for us right from the start. She was good on the plane and handling the heat and weath...

7 Weeks Old

Image
I thought i'd have more time to blog since my last post, thinking Ayisha had got into a routine and me getting more efficient doing stuff bla bla. How would i know these lil ones get more and more unpredictable and can cry on and on and on for no reason at all especially from 4 weeks on? BTW, this post has changed title a few times - depending on what week we're on. It's been kept in draft for ages! She's 7 weeks old now and if i didn't get to finish this today, it'll change to 8! Our lil Squeaky (Michael calls her squeeky cos she doesn't really cry much but squeaks squeaks squeaks!) started getting more and more unsettled between 4pm -8pm, the arsenic or witchin' hours they call it, from 4 weeks on. She would cry and cry eventho i've fed her, burped her, changed her, patted her & sang to her in all different languages. But we're doing better now, with shorter unsettled periods, her getting into some sort of a routine and some days like ...

When It's All About Her - Ayisha 3 Weeks Old

Image
After 3 weeks, i think im finally getting myself organised and managed to have some ME time and start blogging again. This is also possible because: 1. Ayisha's slowly getting into a routine where she sleeps a lil bit longer & less booby time 2. I think im getting a lil bit efficient in handling her ie. bathing & changing nappies - no more leakages & having to change her clothes as well EVERY TIME. Im doing it faster too - takes me 1 nursery rhyme to change her nappy instead of 3 now! 3. Im handling myself and stuff around the house more efficiently too - ie. having a shower, cooking and even emptying my bowel :p 4. Im not as sore anymore and i think im slowly getting my energy back. 5. I stopped spending an extra hour just cuddling her & staring at her when she sleeps. Ok lah, i still stare, but not as long as before :p Can't help it, i don't wanna miss her crazy facial expressions whilst she's sleeping! So my parents & Wa left last week an...

Introducing Our Lil'Un - 1 Week Old

Image
A week ago, on Monday the 29th June 2009 at 12.03pm our lil'un arrived out of my watermelon tummy weighing 2.95kg, measuring 51cm. YES! It's a girl!! Meet our lil precious one, Ayisha Claire Laidler: I think she has a lot of ME in her ;))) And MAYBE Michael's ears lah. :p She arrived on 40 weeks +1 day, according to the scan & my calendar count, due date was 28th June. But i just realized that Dr Chan's due date on my medical card has always been the 29th June. So yeah, he can have the bragging rights. :p I can't believe it's been a week. I really do wanna take the time and write everything that i can remember right from the start because i had such a wonderful experience having her, i don't ever wanna forget it. But that would have to be spread out over many many posts. I dunno how long i have till Ayisha's up again for a feed and today is the first day i felt i have some me time without feeling too tired and aching everywhere. My parents ...

The Last Week

Image
Yes, the bun is still cooking in the oven. hehehe always wanted to say that :p In other words, the baby's not out yet. Im still carrying my lil'un and loving every moment of it. Part of me just can't wait to see him out and hold him and squeeeeeeeze him. But part of me is truly happy to have him in my tummy just for lil bit longer. Just 6 more days till the due date. This is probably my last post before becoming a mother. (say what?) I know i wanted to write more & post more tummy pics bla bla - as you can see, that has not been happening lah. Tomorrow night my parents will be leaving KLIA and arriving Sydney Wednesday morning! woohoo! So im thinking i won't be blogging much whilst they're here and somewhere in between the lil'un will come...so unless im gonna be REALLY late and really need to blog about it, this is my last pregnancy post i guess. The house is now pretty much ready for my parents, my sister Wa and for the baby. Yesterday, Tom & Imeld...

Nesting at 37 Weeks

Image
No, the baby's not out yet. I've just been busy around the house and there's been a lot of changes happening in our lives. Last Friday was my last day at work. I started my maternity leave at week 37. Over here, they normally leave work 4-6 weeks before the baby's due. I have to get a Dr's letter to show the company that I am ok to work 3 weeks before the due date. I know a lot of people back in Malaysia work up till their due date. Most of them still driving to work! So yeah, i've been doing a lot of stuff around the house. Last weekend, we finally got around to getting our wardrobes for our room! After almost a year, we finally have wardrobes, yippee!! We've been taking our time looking around for the perfect wardrobe. In the end, we finally went to IKEA, went straight to the wardrobe section, wrote down the codes of stuff that we knew we wanted, straight down to pick up what we needed and we're out of there in 1 1/2 hour - SO not right. :p I think...
