This & That

I am now back to no bibik..eh..sister again to hang out with. Wa's gone back to Sunshine Coast. The last few days that she was here, we did nothing much but cook and eat and cook and eat some more. Wa's been helping a lot in the kitchen. She made nasi goreng for us to eat in the cinema when we went to see 'He's Just Not That Into You' (cos someone was super hungry after work and popcorn wouldn't be enough - not the pregnant lady btw). We also made some serunding for her to take back to Sunny Coast. Woohoo! Reminded us so much of our yearly Raya preparation but without the proper full ingredients and my aunt & ma's supervision. hehe. Bau ada, rupa ada, rasa pun ok la jugak! We had to cook another batch because someone (again, not the pregnant lady) almost finished the first batch. :p It was great having Wa around. I miss her. I miss my family. Homesick a bit. :( Weather's been gloomy lately, rainy & cold winds. Weeks before that, it's b...

The Other Sister

For the past few days, our lil home has again been filled with the laughter & presence of another Hasmoni, my other lil sister, Wa. After a lot of uncertainties, she finally made it down under to start her PHD in Sunshine Coast Uni, Queensland. She arrived about 2 weeks earlier to settle into her uni accommodation and also to come to Sydney to spend some time with us before her semester starts next week. It's been FANTASTIC having her here! She doesn't eat as much as my other sister Limah, but she likes to shop all the same. She's already overweight in luggage after just 1 day of shopping. Been taking her to shop for some Asian food stuff - kicap manis kipas udang being one of them and did some other shopping for stuff she needs to bring back to Sunny Coast. She's been a great help around the house as well. She couldnt really help with the laundry cos she couldnt reach our hills hoist to hang the clothes hehehe..But she cooks!!!! She made the sambal for nasi l...

I Love Weddings

Image
When I was a little girl, i used to dress up my lil sisters & younger cousins in my ma's long dresses & heels complete with sequinned scarves & flowers as veils and made them sit on two chairs and watched them get married :p As i get older, whenever i attended weddings, id often find myself dreaming about what my wedding would be like - the perfect dress, perfect cake and perfect men (i was single and imagining different men at different weddings lah :p) After i got married, going to weddings would remind me of my own wedding day of course, then all the different kinds of emotions would come flooding back to me and made me wanna go thru it all over again and more! Be it back home or here in Oz, weddings are such a happy & joyous occasion. When you see the bride & groom, no matter how extravagant and big or private and small the event is, you always get a warm fuzzy feeling inside and can't help feeling the love floating in the air that makes you feel ...
