New Year, Start Over

Image
First & foremost, a very Happy Islamic New Year, Salam Maal Hijrah all! Another year has gone and I've let my blog go without a post for about 6 months now. Bad, I know.   I'm bursting with stuff to tell. So much has happened, good & bad. I really do want to update. Seriously. Ask Michael. See, most days, he'd ask me what I'd be doing for the day and most times my answer would include 'update my blog', among other things. Then today;  Michael: What are u doing today?  Me: Update my blog..  Michael: Ok wait, REALISTICALLY, what are u doing today?  Chet...  Maybe it's the new year, maybe it's just wanting to prove him wrong but here I am, baby!  Right now, we're actually in Khao Lak, Thailand, about 2 hours drive from Phuket town. Khao Lak is the area in Thailand most affected by the tsunami 9 years ago. I didn't know this before I got here. I knew Phuket was badly hit but I thought more Patong beach area etc. But i...

Chubby Chubs

Ok, I admit. As much as I wanted to update daily, I just can't do it. I can give a million excuses right now i.e.. me sick, Ayisha sick, daddy sick, my mum sick blablabla but the truth is, whenever I do get a little bit of time on the computer, I consciously (most times I was just unconscious) choose sleep.  Also, when you blog, u bloghop right, that's part of the fun. So I would find myself catching up on all those blogs I've followed and and and... I just started reading some new blogs like BarelySupermommy & Modg and they're just so so good it's so hard to stop. So how? *sigh*  So I'm proposing to myself a more realistic goal. At least 1 posting a week. How's that? Let's move on shall we?  I haven't written about Eli's development much so here goes. Chubs, as Michael lovingly nicknamed him, for obvious reasons, is almost 11 months and is growing up too fast.  He's really waving now, not graceful at all with hands fl...

Bandung Trip & Updates Before Leaving

Image
Last week, we went to Bandung with my sister & her family, along with my parents. It was short but quite fun. All we did was shop shop shop!  Michael was not so keen on Bandung in the beginning because of his 'got to have beach' policy for a holiday. But he went along with it anyways because he's never been there & we wanted go with my family. So he was happy to let me shop. He was all 'you shop lah , I'm ok, I don't need anything'. 'They're asian sizes anyways, there's nothing for me' bla bla.  So, shop we did..like crazy.  Well..actually. He did..like crazy. Apparently there was a lot of Michael sizes and he ended up with a lot more shopping bags than myself & the kids :p I was not so crazy lah . I am pretty hopeless when it comes to shopping for myself. I take too much time will little success & I am also easily distracted with kids' stuff. We did our shopping at Pasar Baru, Rumah Mode & some of the...

Blame It on Adam & Hawa

Miss us? Man, I miss my blog!  We're still here, alive & well. So much to tell, too many updates. Don't really know where to start.   Right now, we are back in my hometown of yummy ice kacang & best chicken chop, JB. Been here about a month now. I could've updated earlier but we've been busy.  There's weddings & new babies (my baby sister gave birth and I haven't even blogged about her wedding yet! erk..) & my babies & settling in & Edward Cullen...   OMG! I love love love Breaking Dawn 2! Don't care about the Robsten affair drama. Ok, I did care a little bit & got all emotional when they broke up. Bit sad lah that they're over. But now they're back on and am super sad that the movies are over! :( I wanna watch it again & again, the uncut version please!  Thank you to my awesome hubby - the day before my sisters & I went to see the movie, he surprised me with a Do-Not-Disturb-Mummy day ...

Sleeping Grunty

Image
For the 1st time in his life, Eliyas slept through the night for 10 hours last night!!!!!!!!!!! Yabedabada badaba dooooooo!!!!!! Which means, for the 1st time in a very long time, I slept through for 7 hours last night (automatic body alarm clock woke me up!) That's 7 UNINTERRUPTED, no squeaking, no grunting, no really-gotta-get-up-to-pee sleep. It was so so good! I'm so happy I feel like I can do a million things. Ahhh..the little simple things. :)

My Little Grunty

Eliyas is already 6 weeks old.   He's at such a cute age where he's more alert during the day that we can have a little bit of a chat together. You know, the ones that come with deep meaningful looks, staring into each other's eyes, cute cooing noises coming from the both of us and him flashing what most definitely looks like a smile that melts my heart every time. Every little new thing that we experienced together would take me way back when I first had Ayisha.  He is Ayisha all over again in so many ways. They look so much like each other and have similar expressions and when I look back at Ayisha's baby photos, Eli is in each and every one of them but maybe a tad bigger, a little bit chubbier and a whole lot heavier. We went for our 6-week check up today and he's already 5.8kg! That's huge man. No wonder my arms get cramped when feeding him in the middle of the night. He also got his 1st immunisation and they're nasty nasty nasty! H...

He's Finally Here!

Image
10 days overcooked but he's here and he's almost 3 weeks old already!!!  Introducing....   Eliyas Thomas Laidler  Too happy! It all started on Sunday night 3 weeks ago, when I started having contractions all night long. It was mild & bearable but painful enough that I couldn't get any sleep.  The next day I went to the hospital for the appointment that we all thought I never have to go to. Cause you know, 2nd baby's supposed to come earlier, faster, easier bla bla. What a MYTH!  The contraction stopped when I got there so the midwife, Gulseren (I was sent to see a different one because I was overdue) said what I felt before was just false labour. Isk..Sabo jek!  I was scheduled in for an induction on Thursday but Gulseren thought that I would probably have the baby by then but who knows!  As soon as we left the hospital, the pain started again (of course!) and it went on all night as well. More intense an...
