Another 30th to Remember!

Today, someone else is turning 30! Someone who holds most of my life's secrets, who gets me everytime without any explanation and truly knows what im all about - my best friend Haida! We've known each other for 17 years now and it all started with our obsession on Dicky & Tess' relationship from the drama Reasonable Doubt back in school. It then went on to our shared interest in Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt and hatred for Nicole Kidman & Gwyneth Paltrow and also drooling over David Beckham together. She even sent me scrapbook-like latest pictures of Becks & Posh while she was in the UK that i still keep to this day. She' such a dear friend, not wanting me to miss out! ;)

More than that, she's a TRUE friend that im so lucky to have. We didn't really get to spend as much time together as we would like to, even in school we were hanging out with different group of friends (she's a Feminin Mahsuri, i was a Jujur Teja), she went to the UK and me to OZ to study, she worked in Penang for years and me in KL when we started working, but she's always, ALWAYS there for me. She would jump with joy and scream and laugh with me when i told her all about my crazy crushes and excitement and she would cry and swear and curse with me when i shared my heartbreaks and disappointments. I can't remember how many long distance phone calls being made, cards and letters exchanged and how many times she put up with my 'i love him, no i hate him, no i love him, no i hate him' stories and everytime, she would truly listen and altho she would always say the right things that i wanna hear, she would also tell me honestly what i needed to know.

I can't believe the only pictures we have together during my wedding are of her in the background doing things for me! We didn't have a picture actually posing together cos she was too busy handling stuff on MY behalf and by the time it was almost over and lots of posing pictures taken, she had to rush off to catch the plane after all the hard work that she put in for my sake. But we did spend my last singlehood nite together, and having her there with me all the time was truly what i needed, i could never thank her enough for that!

She is also someone that i look up to. I admire her strength and determination, i remember trying to persuade her to do the same course as mine when we're in Sunway College just so we can go overseas but she stubbornly refused. She wanted to go to the UK so much eventhough it was impossible at that time (according to our sponsor) and she ended up being the only one in our batch to go there first. She maintained her 'tawakkal' attitude always and she's always strong emotionally and spiritually. Little things about her amazes me, like how she'd quickly and cutely cover her face everytime she comes across something bad or just from laughing so hard! I remember asking her why she'd do that and she explained that it's a habit she picked up just from being guilty easily and she's actually saying a quick doa asking forgiveness straight away in case she forgets later on or did not get a chance to do it! I learned a lot from her, and i truly want to be a better person when i am with her. What more can you ask from a friend? I love our friendship and i LOVE her more!

Haidaku, I miss exchanging gifts and belanja each other makan on OUR birthday! May all the nicest and greatest things come your way and i wish u all the happiness and joy that u rightfully deserve!! Happy Birthday babe! Dicky & Tess 4eva...hehehe
