A Wonderful Eid Surprise
Guess what?
My lil sister Limah - is here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, she's here in Sydney. She arrived yesterday morning and will be here for about 1 month! She bought with her 20kg bag full of RAYA goodness from my ma & pa & sisters & everyone back home. WOOOHOOO!
I have absolutely ZERO knowledge that she's coming. She was my big surprise Eid + Xmas gift that Michael has been keeping from me for the past 3 weeks. Im still shocked by it all and how he's successfully pulled it off. I did not know about it at all till i actually saw Limah pushing her trolley down the ramp of the arrival hall.
He's been scheming with my other sister, Wa, who didnt even breathe a word to me about it eventho we've been in constant contact few days leading up to Raya (so much for sisterhood loyalty!) but i know it's killing her as much as it's killing Michael keeping this wonderful surprise from me.
Michael was so over the top he even went behind my back and contacted my boss (who obviously went along with it and told me NOTHING) to ask for my time off work for yesterday.
I was all ready for work yesterday and Michael was driving us to the city cos he said he's got a 'meeting' to go to close by my work. I was happy cos i didnt have to get up too early to catch the train. I didnt even suspect anything when he turned to park at the airport. One, cos he was distracting me by asking about Twilight and making me excitingly talk about Edward Cullen. Two, because he said it's still a bit early for the meeting and thot we should stop for Krispy Kreme donuts. Drooling about Edward to a willing listener while having donuts?? I happily agreed. Even when we passed Krispy Kreme and he told me he needed cash from ATM, i didnt argue. But when there's no turning back for donuts after ATM, i realized we're at the very centre of the arrival hall & noticed some MAS flights from KL just arriving. I was a lil bit suspicious but he dodged my questions well enough with his excuses that i thought maybe his friend Paully was coming home and at that point, i was getting a bit annoyed that he'd drag me there and making me late for work.
But moments later, i saw a familiar face coming towards us and then...waterworks all around :p

It was unexpected.
Im still smiling from ear to ear and just could not believe my lil sister is here in our home in Heathcote (along with the london almond, apple tart, raya nibbles & keropok, malay dvds and my elder sister even bought me roti jala mould! aaaaaaaaaw!!:)))))) . It definitely made my Eid so much more meaningful, jz to have a lil piece of my family here with me. Been catching up with her all day yesterday to know what my family did for raya and going thru her raya pics and videos of my nieces & nephews playing bunga api and all. Not to mention all the gossips that i've been missing :p It's all so surreal!

I hafta say that I am very impressed that my ma, my sisters and even my cousin were able to keep this surprise from me. Not even any hint especially the Raya night when i called home and talked to them. It's so not like us..usually once a Hasmoni knows something, other Hasmonis would know in a heartbeat! I guess Wa was pretty smart in letting some of them know at the last minute - my sister had to rush to get stuff to get me and my brothers still didn't know till after Limah's here!
Yes MA, u are the best and u soo rock - million times more than Edward Cullen ;)

Have fun with Che Limah...muah muah muah...Selamat Hari Raya Maaf Zahir Batin :D
Anyway, selamat hari raya to both of you. I tried Serai before, and I thought the food was not really good kan ? Dah laa service pon lambat.
Next time if you're in Sydney try Sam Satay dekat Surry Hills jugak. Other than that if you're here on day time boleh makan dekat Kaki Lima in Kensington.
Nice food, nice teh tarik heheh !
