Miss Drooly McRoary

'Hi. My name is Drooly McRoary. Im a snorer.' (background at Snorer Anonymous, 'Hi Drooly')

Yes lah, I snore.

Lately, apparently it's been getting worse & worse. To the point that we (Michael & I) even had a mini fight about it. I know that i snore but i didnt think i was that bad and it's not that i snore everynite. I thot it only happen when i get really really tired. I've been pretty lucky that all my previous roommates that were 'privileged' to share a room with me, didn't really have any problems with my snoring. Normally they'd give me a nudge or push and the snoring would stop. Most times, they were pretty deep sleepers (esp my sister Wa) themselves that the snoring never really bothered them.

I do sometimes cringe if i have to share a room with someone for the first time. But i'd always warn them that i snore and to nudge me if it bothered them. But so far, no one's been complaining. Or maybe they're jz being nice??? erk..

Ive heard myself snore. Once i shared a bedroom with my MIL when we're holidaying in Cairns. I didn't know she actually recorded my snoring until she showed it to everyone when we got home. Man, i was LOOOOOOOOOOOUD! But they're all snorers too and i was tired from all the travelling so not so malu lah..

When we first got married, i can't remember if i actually did warn Michael or he found it out by himself. But he eventually found out lah and he didnt mind it (chenta la tu kan) and told me it didnt bother him and that nudging me every once in a while would shut me up.

Until recently.

First he called me Drooly McRoary when i woke up after accidentally falling asleep in front of the TV one nite, with patches of drools on his shoulder. I even woke up with a lil snort. U know the kind when u catch yourself actually snoring? He said i was ROARING. But he wasn't sleeping so it didnt bother him and the nickname didnt bother me so it's all still good.

Then i started waking up in the mornings finding him in the couch in our living room. I thought it's because of my snoring but he said he was tossing and turning cos couldnt sleep and didnt wanna wake me.

Then he came back one day with ASONOR. It's an anti snore remedy where you squirt the drops into your nostrils till it reaches your throat. I asked again if the snoring's bothering him now but he said that he's jz been wanting to buy s'thing to help me with it and jz happened to remember to get it that day.

AND THEN, he was on the couch again. And me being all super sensitive especially with all the extra hormones, started our fight. By fight i mean me keeping quiet (merajuk) and him getting frustrated trying to get me talk. If that doesnt work then he'd stop talking and id start s'thing cos i can't stand him not talking. Then we'll both talk it out and all's good again. Pretty boring isn't it? Sometimes I wish we could be like those couples that fight big. I mean, not violent big but intense big. The kind yg drama abis tuh, when u yelled at each other and started slamming and throwing stuff and then after that u make up in a really big way too. But then we tried that once and ended up larfing cos we're no good at yelling & slamming at all.

Aaaaaanyways, so he said that he was on the couch again that nite cos i was roaring soooooooooo LOUD. The loudest ever. I somehow knew this was true cos i woke up in the middle of the nite with a sore throat and blocked nose and really really dry mouth. Had trouble sleeping after that and was SOO SOO tired too. Never felt anything like it. So i started googling and found out that u tend to snore more during pregnancy especially in the 3rd trimester. So if im this bad when im only at the start of my 2nd tri, how much worse can i get?

So last nite i squirted ASONOR up my nostrils. Michael didn't end up on the couch. But i didnt stop snoring either. He woke up in the middle of the nite and got ear plugs instead.

Im gonna try ASONOR'ing again tonite. It says it might take up to 2 weeks to take effect. If that doesn't work, then i might need to get myself checked into a sleep clinic or something.

I don't wanna forever be Drooly McRoary. Well, Drooly every once in a while maybe ok lah but the McRoary has definitely got to stop!

I use Asonor and it works great for me, after a bit of experimenting I worked out it works best if you can feel it in the back of the via nostrils. Another thing is make sure you don't drink anything after you use it! All the best.

Kesiannya kat awak. Sabar jek...well dahling, i sleep alone, maybe that's one of the perks of being single...ahaksss...nak snore ke, nak gulik gulik ke takde saper yang kesah.

nways i think its coz of your pregnancy lah, it all comes with the territory. coz i dont remember anybody complaining that much abt you when you sleep. unless kita pun semua memang sama bising masa tido...heh heh heh...sabar jek si mike tuh...

well i guess it's just preparing you guys for when the baby comes, lagi tak leh nak tido nanti...

toodles and all the best...muah muah muah
