Busy February

Im trying to start my post with something other than 'We've been busy..' or 'Lots of stuff happening... ' but I can't. The main reason is probably because i've only been updating my blog once a month instead of weekly or daily as i very much wanted to. But seriously, we've been pretty busy this month. Ayisha is the busiest one actually, growing up every single day. She turns 8 months today. :)

So the biggest happening this month would hafta be my sister's wedding. My in-laws were here for this special occasion and stayed for about 2 weeks so we've been pretty busy with them the whole time. Besides the wedding, we also went to Krabi, went shopping, Melaka, more shopping and a lot of eating along the way. It's also Michael's birthday month so he gets to celebrate the whole time too. :p Ayisha on the other hand, has been oh so super busy with her crawling, babbling and growing teeth!!!

It all started as soon as my in-laws arrived from Sydney 3 days before the wedding. We drove to JB the next day and from then on it's been pretty full on. Upon arriving, we had Wa's Hen's Party, Hi-Tea Karaoke. It was goooood! Can't reveal much of what we did but it was fun! Everyone, and i mean every one, including my ma, my aunty and my MIL were on the microphones ;) It was definitely a memorable and wonderful day out with the girls.

The wedding itself was of course such a blast. The bride and groom looked truly happy and surely had a magnificent day and Im so glad for them. :) A tad sad cos she's all grown up now but million times more happy for her. It was also lots of fun watching all my many nieces and nephews having the time of their lives. They're all growing up really fast and all that i could think of at the time was how glad i was to be there. I know Ayisha's only little and would not remember but i was glad that she was there too with all her cousins.

It was great that my in-laws were there too. We had Ayisha's 'Potong Jambul' and her grandma was there for it! It was pretty special because Ayisha got to wear the very lovely gown that was more than 100 years old that grandma brought with her all the way from Sydney. Michael wore it for his Christening as well as all the other Laidler babies so it was nice that Ayisha got to wear it too.

Ayisha did not like to have her front curls messed with tho. She was fine most of the time but screamed whenever her hair was being cut. Most of the ladies were only 'pretending' to cut except for one that took a big chunk of her curls and happily snipped it away. That was when I wanted to cry too! :p

Be nice, grandma!

After the wedding we rushed back to KL to catch our flight to Krabi. We were there a few months before and LOOOOOOVE it so much we decided to take my in-laws there. It also turned out to be a lil bit cheaper than Langkawi or Sabah, where we initially wanted to take them. We stayed for 5 days in the same resort as before, the fabulous Sala Talay where it's quiet and peaceful but still walking distance to the shops and restaurants. The best bit is probably the pool access rooms where you can just flop into the pool from your room. This is probably the main reason we went back to Krabi! :p Ayisha had loads of fun with grandma and poppy especially in the pool and riding the tuk tuk.

Enjoying the pool and Mr Bunny!

I was just truly happy to be back to the land of great pad thais and delish mango pancakes AND banana & nutella pancakes. They're the BEST! We left Krabi on Michael's birthday so Sala Talay surprised us with a really cute yummy birthday cake for the birthday boy.

Happy Birthday Dadadadada

After Krabi, we spent the remaining week in KL, chilling in our apartment, shopping, day trip to Malacca, shopping, went to the Bird Park and shopping again. It was really great having them around and it was wonderful for Ayisha getting to spend some quality time with grandma & poppy. She was definitely enjoying all the pampering, attention and lots of love. She also did a LOT of stuff while they're here, showing off. ;) She started crawling when she was with Grandma. She's also starting to pull herself up and her favorite spot is her dad's tummy. She started babbling 'dadadadada' - best birthday gift for daddy. :p It was also while they're here that Ayisha cut her teeth. She's got 2 below and they're the cutest! She started waving goodbyes too, not all the time but it drives everyone crazy when she does it. Whenever we're out eating, she'd be on her own high chair now with the big ones trying out big people's food. Daddy & poppy gave her ice cream!

While we're out and about, she'd look around searching not only for mummy & daddy but also for grandma and poppy, making sure we're all there. The day after they left, Ayisha was a lil bit lost and kept looking around for other than Michael & me and was whingy the whole day. She must be so bored! :p I think we're all a lil bit lost, trying to get back into routine.

So that's February for us, went by so quickly. Looking forward to March and especially a lot of new things from our lil Squeaky! ;)

Salam yan,

I'm thinking of Krabi as the next family holiday destination but am just wondering how convenient it is to find halal food? Does the Sala Talay resort have halal food options?

Looking forward to your response as I'm thinking of booking the flight tickets some time in the next couple of weeks.

Thanks a lot!

Wassalam & cheers!
