30th Flight at 20 Months
After 2 weeks in Malaysia and a lovely surprise from Michael who came to JB to pick us up, we're back in Bali. 2 days later, we're on the plane again, on what had been Ayisha's 30th flight, destination - Perth. After Perth we went to Sydney, total 1 week in Oz and now we're back in Bali again. That's a lot of time up in the air in a short period of time. Very tiring but it was lots of fun to see family again and we had a wonderful time in Perth.
It all started when Michael told me that he just had to go see Stone Temple Pilots in concert, in Perth. I thought he was joking cos a) he doesn't have any leave yet & b) we're not THAT rich ok. So i jokingly said yeah sure, take us with him. The next thing i know, we're all set to go visit the family in Malaysia, have a short holiday in Perth and also visit the family in Sydney!
I didn't go to the concert of course, Michael's the groupie, somehow managing to follow the concerts in Singapore and Sydney as well. With Michael's determination and unbeatable skill of finding the cheapest possible flight and accommodation, combined with a whole lotta luck (some unexpected $ coming in, return tickets we forgot about etc), he made it all possible. We justified the trip as Michael's ultimate birthday present - having turned another year older last month. So we skipped all grand celebrations on his actual birthday and even got the birthday cake for free! woohoo..:p
To make ourselves feel better about indulging in this trip, we also told ourselves how we've been wanting to do a lot of travels before Ayisha turns 2 (after which, full price for the tix lah!) and to places where we all haven't been before, in this case - Perth. More importantly, Ayisha would get to see & spend some quality time with her loved ones and that of course, was priceless.
In the end, we somehow managed, without having to spend too much $ and without Michael risking his job. So it's all good.
Perth was awesome! I dunno why i haven't heard much about the beaches in Perth but the ones that we went to are ALL just picture perfect beautiful - blue skies, white sands and crystal clear blue water. We stayed at Scarborough, so the first day we spent some time at the beach there.
The next day, we went to some other beaches - one in Freemantle and the other is Cottlesloe beach - the beach of the famous pic where Prince Charles was grabbed & kissed by an Oz model b4 he was married. heheh. There happened to be the Sculpture by the Sea exhibition held at that beach so that was a lot of fun and quite fascinating.
We also went to Swan Valley supposedly famous for its winery but we went in search for good cheese and chocolates. We ended up going nuts sampling wonderful cheeses at one of the cheese shops and i went even more crazy at the chocolate factory.
We're in Perth for just 2 days but it was loads of fun. From Perth we flew to Sydney and as always, it was wonderful to spend time with family and especially to see Ayisha being all so comfortable with everyone and having a great time.
Now we're back in Bali and slowly getting back into routine. A lot has been happening here as well. Ayisha's been talking lots n lots, a kilo heavier and her hair is getting a lil bit thicker too i think. :)
