Fruit Salad Dancing at Little Stars

This coming week is Ayisha's last week of school before the summer break at Little Stars Early Learning & Kindergarten.

her 1st few weeks of school

So 3 days ago, they had a 'graduation' ceremony for the older kindy kids which also meant a concert day for all the other playgroup kids.

Her teacher told me a week before that they're practising the Fruit Salad Song for Ayisha's class performance. I was overly excited to know that because that is one of the first songs that Ayisha learned and she loves it so much she could do the dance in her sleep. :p

So the whole week leading up to it I was preparing her for this by making her sing it every morning when she wakes up and every night before she sleeps and anytime in between including in the car. (No no, I am so not one of the mothers of E! Toddlers & Tiaras :p)

So the rhythm for the Fruit Salad song is exactly like 'Are You Sleeping' (everyone knows that yeah?) and it goes like this:

Wa-ter-me-lon, wa-ter-me-lon (are-you slee-ping, are-you slee-ping)

hands making a big watermelon circle

Pa-pa-ya, pa-pa-ya (Bro-ther John, Bro-ther John)

arms together & rock side to side

Ba-na-na Ba-na-na, Ba-na-na Ba-na-na (Morning-bells-are-ringing, morning-bells-are-ringing)

palms together & do snake-like motion ('watch Dora pun can still do lah mum')

Fruit Sa-lad, fruit sa-lad (ding-dang-dong, ding-dang-dong)

shake your hands up & down

Got it?

So the day came and we're all so pumped up.

'I'm so ready now, come on!'

Even daddy took time off work.

cam nervous jek minah tu

Then it was time for her class, Starlet to perform...drum roll pleaaaaaaaase.....

Taa-daaa!

what's everyone looking at?

She was freaking out when about to get on stage, her teacher had to pick her up. Her other classmates were pretty blur too and quite stunned - what with the crazy parents and their cameras laughing at them!!

They're still SOOO cute tho and I know they could've performed the song so well without that many attention and pressure! heheheh

I was just so happy and proud to see her up there. It's ok lah Squeaky. We love you and so very proud of you!!

After the concert we have a little picnic at the school compound. All parents chipped in for the food and it was a really fun event.

Lil stars mummies

Look who's happy now?!!
