100 Days to Go

Every Sunday night, i would take out my week-by-week pregnancy journal that i got for free from the ultrasound clinic, to read about what's going on with the mummy (that's me!) and the baby.

Yesterday, i was 27 weeks exactly. According to the book, i am now entering the 3rd trimester and i have about 100 days to go. The 2nd trimester went by so quick. I still haven't done all the things that people say you should do during your 2nd trimester cos that's when you're most comfy. Things like travelling & cycling. Who am i kidding? I didnt even cycle when i was not pregnant! :p

Today, i actually counted the number of days till my supposedly due date and it's actually 90 days left instead of 100! Where did the other 10 go? And what if the baby comes early? That'd be less than 90 days then. Aaaaaaaaaaah! The midwife says that most babies arrive during full moon. So i googled and in June, the full moon is about 1 week before my due date. So how?

Also, last weekend, my in-laws came by to help set up the baby room. We've got the cot & changing table all ready now and whilst my MIL was putting on sheets to protect the cot mattress, i started getting a bit scared. I just realized that im gonna have to start changing the baby's sheets as well as mine. And looking at cot, it's just SO much bigger than i thought! Bit by bit, it's all starting to get more and more real.

Michael said that he can't wait for my 'nesting period' - the period where pregnant women would feel the need to keep everything tidy & in order around the house, in anticipation of the arrival of the baby. I knew giving him that 'From Here to Paternity' book would make him know too much, even the unnecassary ones! :p

It's not that our house is super untidy. It's just not super clean yet. I still don't feel the urge to make the baby room pretty or kitchen all spotless. I do admit that Michael's been doing A LOT around the house lately. He's been taking care of the lawn & our plants, tidying up the spare room at the back of the house where we put all our junks and setting up the baby room.

However, I did vacuum last weekend. The only task i did for the whole Sunday. Then i hafta put my feet up & rest most of the time. Oh, and i also made chocolate banana cake, which we finished in just 1 day.

Btw, our Star Shots photos are ready! Will upload em soooon!

Hey mommy to be...

Kena rajin sket..hehehe..You may not feel comfortable to cycle...but walking, let say in the mall..is a ggod exercise kay ! I still do mopping till today but in terms of folding the cloths, hubby's job :-). Vacumming, luckily we have the I Robot.
It seems that you're gonna have the baby at a separate room. Please take the necessary steps. I would advise you not to have any pillows for the baby to sleep...

Hey Yan! COngrats on the baby! It's gonna be a lot of work, but loads of fun! My kids sleep in separate rooms since day 1 home from the hospital. There's some can paranoia there at first but after that, it's ok. Like Kak Aske' said - no need pillows for now. They're actually ok without it!

ANyways - we're here for mommy advise if you ever need it! And if u think this is an overload of info, you can always tell us to STOP!

Enjoy your pregnancy! Take care ya!
