Babymoon at 33 Weeks
I talked about babymoon earlier in my pregnancy:
The term babymoon actually means a holiday that you & your partner take before the 1st baby comes. It's like honeymoon but with a baby on the way. It's the last one u have as a couple but the first one with the 3 of you.
Last weekend, we had ours. It was not as long as our honeymoon but it was so much needed and i enjoyed every moment of it! We headed to the Central Coast, instead of going the usual south, and stayed at Mantra Resort, Ettalong Beach.
It was supposed to be only about a 1 1/2 hour drive to get there but we had to battle thru Sydney crazy peak hour traffic after work on Friday and got there a bit later than expected. But it was all well worth it. We were lucky enough to get a room at the resort at a very good deal, thanks to Michael's super kind colleague who offered his family's apartment after hearing about how Michael wanted to take me for a babymoon. Well actually, Michael thinks it's partly because of all the whinging that he did at work about how freaking expensive it is to getaway for the weekend even around Sydney. Whatever it is, we're SO grateful for it!
The place's AMAZING. It's just next to the beach & walking distance to all the shops & markets. We've got a two bedroom unit with 2 bathrooms & fully equipped kitchen. It even comes with a box of fancy choccies!
After arriving late on Friday, we just decided to chill and had a nice dinner at a nearby Thai restaurant. On Saturday, we did EVERYTHING. Started off walking around Ettalong beach and to the nearby Markets. It was EXCELLENT! Everything's pretty cheap and there's just lots of different kinds of shop. Michael went crazy at a junk shop and bought heaps of stuff including some old school games and even a binocular that reminded him of his childhood years. I was targetting the lolly shop, fudge shop, waffle store and all the different food stalls around. I think it was the baby getting all excited and wanting a bit of everything (iyo lah tuh..:p)
After lots of walking & shopping, we headed back to the hotel (i actually had to pee again for the umpteenth time and the hotel was the closest option at that point). We decided to spend some time at the fabulously HUGE pool, overlooking the beach. There wasn't a lot of people so it was just so peaceful and nice. It was too cold for me, so i only went & dipped my legs. Well, i was halfway in then the baby started kicking like crazy (yes, im using the baby again as an excuse). So the rest of the time i was snacking on chocolates - courtesy of the hotel, peri-peri twisties - that Michael brought back from M'sia and just relaxing.
After the pool, we went out again. This time we did a scenic drive and stopped by the nearby beaches - Copacabanna (we couldn't get that song out of our head the whole trip), Avoca, Warimbal (where we saw a dog that looked like a lion) and finally The Entrance, where we had halal pies before having seafood dinner at a steakhouse that served pop corns for free before your meal comes.

I wanted to showcase my growing tummy but still can't really see eh?
It was raining at Ettalong on Sunday morning so we didnt get to go out & about. We checked out at noon and headed to the city to attend Azi & Angus' pre-wedding party. On the way, we stopped at Belrose Club for lunch. This club is very special especially to Michael. It's his pride & joy. His company was involved with the place from start to finish and it just opened few weeks ago. I've seen the various drawings and renders of the club millions of times before whilst he's working on it. So it was a lil bit surreal when we actually got there and everything looks EXACTLY the same as what ive been seeing on his computer screen. One of his pretty pictures was also featured in the local newspaper to advertise the club. Woohoo!
The place was FULL & busy that day. Apparently it's been popular & packed out eversince it opened. It's a great makan and hang out place for the whole family. Eventho there's lots of people around it wasn't uncomfortably crowded at all. The place is HUGE with different table and chair settings & comfy sofas, scatterred all over indoor & outdoor. There always seem to be enough room for everyone. They also have a huge indoor playground in the club for the kiddies. The food was pretty good too and reasonably priced. The place's clearly a success and I am pretty proud of him! ;))
