Turning 32 at 32 Weeks
I started this entry a while ago but never got to finish it. It started with how much i was missing Michael whilst he was away. But now he's already back and i even celebrated my birthday yesterday so it's gotta be all about me now instead of all about him. :p
Oklah, maybe a lil bit about him first.
2 weeks without Michael was kinda hard, especially with all the extra sensitive hormones floating around. But i had great help from my sister Wa, who stayed with me after Easter for another week. We did nothing much but eat, which you can read about in her blog. Another weekend was spent with my girlfriends. That was loads of fun :) Also, all those while that he's away, i know that my in-laws are only 10 mins drive away so i felt that i'd be okay.
Anyways, he's back now along with all the goodies that i got from my family back home! So it's all goooooood!
So i turned 32 at exactly 32 weeks yesterday. It felt a lil bit different this time. Normally i'd be all excited & truly looking forward to my birthday. This time, it's not that im sad about turning another year older, there was just not as much excitement in me the days leading up to my birthday. Like it's really not a big deal for me. It's just another day. Man, i AM getting old :p
Nevertheless, it was fantastic. We celebrated the night before at Vicki's. She organised a card-making day for the girls during the day and then dinner for all at night. At first i thought it's just another dinner get together with the Laidlers & close friends but i did have a feeling that i MIGHT get cake that night. (mengharap..hehehe). What i didn't quite expect was the many wonderful presents along with the beautiful handmade cards that i got. I felt so special :) Food was AWESOME and yesssss i did get cake - Sara Lee chocolate mud cake!
My actual birthday yesterday was spent with Michael. He showered me with lots of pressies in the morning and then we went to an Indonesian Cafe in Surry Hills that serves all day western & indo breakfast, lunch & dinner on weekends. So we had breakfast & stayed for brunch & lunch. We had eggs benedict & beef bacon, murtabak, nasi goreng indo, mee goreng mamak, freshly squeezed orange juice, tehbotol indo and cendol. They're all so so yumm! The place is very cosy & nicely decorated. It was very relaxing just hanging out at the cafe, reading newspapers & gossip magazines supplied & getting very comfy with the many cushions on our seats.
After all the eating we just wanted to do nothing, so we went home and did our favorite thing - spread our favorite couch into a bed, cover it with lots of pillows & doona, dive ourselves in them and watch DVDs. It's getting colder n colder nowadays so it was just so comfy to be under the doona and have chocolates on the coffee table next to the couch/bed. We watched Bride Wars (my birthday lah, so i got to pick a chick flick :p), RocknRolla (pretty good movie) and W (about George Bush - interesting, but i fell asleep half way thru from too much chocolates).
So only 8 weeks to go. Single digits weeks left now. I can't believe it's getting so close. I've only got about 1 month left of work before maternity leave. I do have a noticeable pregnant tummy now and i know this is true for 2 reasons. Firstly, for the first time i had a stranger at a shop asking me 'When are you due'? Secondly, a young girl offered me her seat on the train. Exciting times, i know :p
Most of the time i've been feeling ok. Just getting more heartburn and sometimes pain on my right rib. Major kicks & actions going on in my tummy, i love em! The baby gets aggressive now when Michael pokes it.
We still haven't got a boy's name yet. I was staring at my tummy in the mirror yesterday and it kinda looked like a basketball now. Round and pointing out. We have about the same number of people guessing either it's gonna be a boy or a girl. 2 of whom claimed they've always been right, said that it's a boy. Michael is also accepting the fact that it could actually be a boy. So we're kinda freaking out that we haven't got a boy's name yet. So if anyone has a spare boy's name to give us, very much welcomed.
